Team of the Week

  1. George Bower (Crusaders)- Bower had an impressive first start in the tournament, making 18m, nine tackles and a clean break.
  2. Kurt Eklund (Blues)- Eklund continued his impressive form, making 21m, a clean break and not missing a tackle.
  3. Ofa Tu’ungafasi (Blues)- continued to impress, with 6 carries, the same number of tackles and a try.
  4. Sam Whitelock (Crusaders)- played his 150th incredibly, making 13m from nine carries and 11 tackles.
  5. Patrick Tuipulotu (Blues)- lead by example as per usual , making eight tackles, 16m and three offloads.
  6. Sam Cane (Chiefs)- the new All-Blacks captain showed his class with 24 tackles, nine metres gained and three turnovers.
  7. Tom Christie (Crusaders)- made 11m from six carries and a huge 19 tackles, as well as being highly disruptive around the park.
  8. Akira Ioane (Blues)- the MVP for the match, Ioane dominated with a try, 13 tackles, a turnover and 29 run metres. A hugely physical player.
  9. Finlay Christie (Blues)- a great performance from Christie- who got two tries, a try assist, 43 run metres, a clean break and eight tackles. His support play and speed around the field is unparalleled at the moment.
  10. Josh Ioane (Highlanders)- Ioane had a great return from injury, scoring 11 points, running 21m and beating nine defenders. He also made seven tackles and 28 passes.
  11. Caleb Clarke (Blues)- Clarke was incredible this week, making 44m from 10 carries, assisting a try and making seven tackles. His energy, power and speed are establishing him as one of the best wingers in New Zealand currently.
  12. Jack Goodhue (Crusaders)- Goodhue was solid in midfield- making 10 tackles (none missed), 20m from five carries, a clean break and beating two defenders.
  13. Rieko Ioane (Blues)- really class outing for the centre, making 11 tackles and 26m from six carries. He also made two clean breaks and claimed a try assist.
  14. George Bridge (Crusaders)- Bridge was quality at the weekend, making 24m from 13 carries, 14 tackles and a try assist. One of the premier wingers in NZ right now.
  15. Will Jordan (Crusaders)- the form fullback had another great outing- making 76m from 12 carries, beating 3 defenders and making the same number of clean breaks as well as a try and three offloads.
