Team of the Week

  1. Joe Moody (Crusaders)- Moody was excellent yet again, holding strong in the scrums and making seven tackles.
  2. Codie Taylor (Crusaders)- Taylor showed his class, making 11 tackles and missing none whilst also carrying for 52 metres, with two offloads.
  3. Michael Alaalatoa (Crusaders)- the tighthead completes the world-class Crusaders trio with four carries and eight tackles.
  4. Scott Scrafton (Hurricanes)- the revelation of Scrafton continued his form with 10 tackles (none missed) and a turnover- a hugely strong defensive player.
  5. Jack Whetton (Highlanders)– made nine tackles and missed none, whilst making 18 metres and being hugely disruptive in the lineouts.
  6. Shannon Frizell (Highlanders)- a definite contender for the All-Blacks blindside jersey, Frizell was brilliant yet again- making 34m, 13 tackles and scoring a try to help his side nearly topple the Champions.
  7. Tom Christie (Crusaders)– the open side was class, making 14m, the same number of tackles and winning a turnover for his side.
  8. Ardie Savea (Hurricanes)- another physical performance from Savea, where he made seven tackles (missing none), and the same number of carries as well as a turnover.
  9. TJ Perenara (Hurricanes)- Perenara was excellent again for the ‘Canes, making 53m from nine carries, beating two defenders and making a clean break.
  10. Richie Mo’unga (Crusaders)- the official player of the tournament, Mo’unga was incredible yet again- making seven tackles, 77m from 10 carries, two clean breaks, two offloads and a try assist, as well as scoring 17 points for his team.
  11. Jonah Nareki (Highlanders)- Nareki was hugely impressive, making 105 metres from 12 carries, winning a turnover and scoring a great intercept try.
  12. Jack Goodhue (Crusaders)- the Crusaders 12 had another class outing- making 33m from 12 carries, beating a defender and making a clean break, as well as making 13 tackles.
  13. Peter Umaga-Jensen (Hurricanes)- the in-form centre had another great outing- making 43m from 11 carries, a clean break, beating a defender and scoring two tries for his team.
  14. Sevu Reece (Crusaders)- the classy winger made 74m from nine carries, beat six defenders and made four clean breaks, as well as four tackles.
  15. Will Jordan (Crusaders)- the form fullback had another great game, making 58m from 15 carries, beating two defenders and making a clean break, as well as two try assists and four tackles.
